3rd Grade Sugar Skull Masks

Third Graders learned about the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). They focused on sugar skulls and viewed a real sugar skull and images of sugar skull inspired art. Students then sketched out ideas for sugar skulls masks. Final drawings were done on colored paper and then traced with black marker and embellished with oil pastel. Students had a lot of fun wearing their masks once they were complete.
